About This Experience
Nelson Island sits in the Gulf of Paria, just off the coast of Chaguaramas. It served as a detention center and immigration processing station during World War II, and its ruins tell a fascinating story about Trinidad's wartime history.
We sail out to the island, explore the historical ruins with a knowledgeable guide, and enjoy a refreshing swim at a secluded bay, before returning to Chaguaramas.
